On stage 3 of the Grand Prix of Adygeya, the RusVelo outfit followed up on the strong performance on the two previous days.
Young Alexander Mironov took the victory on the 157 km long course and grabbed the lead in the mountain classification.
Mironov underlined that he is one of the fastest men in the peloton by winning the sprint of an approximately 40 men break ahead of Vadim Chalomov (North Region) and Andriy Vasylyuk (Kolss Cycling).
“The Grand Prix of Adygeya has started exceptionally well for us,” General Manager Heiko Salzwedel points out. “Before this race our team had two season victories. Now we have added another two in three days. The fact that all these wins have been scored by different riders shows the diversity of our team. Everyone gets a chance to ride for success and a lot of our guys are capable of winning races. I am very satisfied and confident that we can build on these good results in races to come.”
The stage did not result in any significant changes in the general classification. While Itera-Katusha’s Zakarin holds on to the leader’s jersey, Firsanov and Ovechkin of RusVelo still sit in second and third position.
